Industria OutdoorTermenul de Outdoor Advertising (in limba romana se poate traduce prin panotaj publicitar) se refera la orice metoda prin care sunt afisate mesaje publicitare care au ca obiectiv (target) persoane aflate in afara locuintei lor. Pentru ca initial mesajele publicitare erau expuse exclusiv pe panouri exterioare (in aer liber), acest mediu de comunicare s-a numit Outdoor Media. In limba romana termenul cel mai des folosit este acela de panouri publicitare. La fel ca multi alti termeni utilizati in publicitate, agentiile au preluat termenul exact in forma sa originala: outdoor. In cele mai multe cazuri companiile care doresc promovarea numelui sau a unui produs apeleaza la o agentie de publicitate (Advertising Agency). Aceasta gestioneaza intreaga campanie de publicitate (advertising campaign) in cadrul careia poate include si panouri publicitare.
